Stephan Kraan (1990)
Stephan received his bachelor and master’s degrees in tax law from Leiden University and graduated from New York University School of Law with an LL.M. in international taxation in 2014. He started his career as a tax adviser with Loyens & Loeff, where he worked in the Amsterdam and London offices and was a member of the transfer pricing and economics practice.
Stephan is specialised in transfer pricing and model-based tax decision making (tax modelling). He inter alia advises multinational enterprises and investment funds on optimisation of transfer pricing models in the context of business restructurings, and on the transfer pricing aspects of financial transactions (e.g., captive insurance and intercompany debt transactions). Stephan also assists clients in (potential) transfer pricing litigation (and settlement discussions) and has worked on several high-profile transfer pricing cases in the Netherlands.
Stephan frequently lectures transfer pricing, such as at the University of Amsterdam, Nyenrode Business University, and the International Tax Centre in Leiden and has been a speaker at national and international transfer pricing conferences.
Stephan is an amateur photographer and football fan. Because of his Mexican roots, he is fluent in Spanish.
